Hoa hele
I'll be traveling in the next few weeks, so posts to this site will be postponed for a time. To everyone who is traveling, or who has travel plans in the near future, I leave you with this prayer, written by King David Kalakaua to Queen Kapi'olani:
E ka moana nui
Kai hohonu
'E lana malie kou mau ale
'E ka makani nui kaika
'E pa kolonahe, malie'oe
'E nihi e ka hele,
Mai hoopa
O thou great ocean
Thou deep seas,
Let thy waves flow gently
O thou strong winds blowing,
Breathe softly and tenderly
Go thou with serenity and peace
Let nothing rise to bar your way
.
E ka moana nui
Kai hohonu
'E lana malie kou mau ale
'E ka makani nui kaika
'E pa kolonahe, malie'oe
'E nihi e ka hele,
Mai hoopa
O thou great ocean
Thou deep seas,
Let thy waves flow gently
O thou strong winds blowing,
Breathe softly and tenderly
Go thou with serenity and peace
